The unique C1-claw sets a new standard for C1-C2 fusion. The claw provides great fixation strength as reported in several articles*. It also features easy application in combination with the ME-connector as seen below.

With the new longer claw fixations can be done down to C4 using this technique.

Insert a Magerl screw transarticullarly from C2 to C1.
Insert a Magerl screw transarticullarly from C2 to C1.
Mount the ME connector on the screw.
Mount the ME connector on the screw.
Compress the C1-claw around the C1 arch and lock it with the set screw on the ME connector.
